Doing Business with the Chickasaw Nation

The Chickasaw Nation invests much of its business revenue to fund education, health care, housing and other services which directly benefit its citizens. Programs and services offered in the areas of family support, youth, nutrition, aging, language, culture and employment underscore the Chickasaw Nation’s dedication to the preservation of Chickasaw families, communities and heritage. These programs and services are an investment in the future of the tribe and the future success of Chickasaw citizens around the globe.

Divisions like procurement, accounting and insurance support the nation’s operations and can be helpful to vendors providing goods and/or services to the Chickasaw Nation.

Tribal Procurement
Chickasaw Nation businesses, programs and services utilize purchase order (PO) numbers for authorization to procure and receive goods or services. If providing goods or services to the Chickasaw Nation, ensure POs are properly documented on invoices and sent to the correct accounts payable department (provided on PO) for prompt payment processing.

Accounting and Accounts Payable
The preferred method of invoice delivery for the Chickasaw Nation is via email. For prompt payment processing, ensure invoices include:

  • Vendor name
  • Invoice date
  • Invoice number
  • Payment terms
  • Description of products or service rendered
  • Dollar amount due with tax omitted
  • Purchase order number

Gaming Commission Info
To conduct business within Chickasaw Nation gaming operations, a gaming license or gaming permit may be required.
Title 2 Section 2-1.03: Minimum Requirements of Applicants: Applicants shall submit sufficient information and identification to allow the Office of the Gaming Commissioner to perform a background investigation to determine if a Gaming License or Gaming Permit should be issued in accordance with the IGRA, NIGC regulations, the Chickasaw Code, current compacts and/or these Regulations.

Applications may be obtained from any gaming commission office.

Insurance Details
As a vendor for the Chickasaw Nation, it is necessary to submit a certificate of insurance to confirm adequate insurance is in place for your business.

Below are the standard insurance requirements for vendors doing business with the Chickasaw Nation:

  1. Commercial General Liability $1 million each occurrence
    • $2 million general aggregate
    • $2 million products/comp ops aggregate
    • $1 million personal/advertising injury
  2. Automobile Liability $1 million combined single limit
  3. Workers’ Compensation Statutory
    • Employers’ Liability $500,000 each accident/policy limit/employee

It is recommended that policies be written with an AM Best “A” rated carrier and should name the Chickasaw Nation as an additional insured with respect to the general liability and commercial auto insurance. Also recommended is a waiver of subrogation on the general liability, commercial auto and workers’ compensation insurance.
